Coding & Cryptography Research Group

The Coding & Cryptography Research Group (CCRG) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is seeking candidates for the following positions:

  1. Research Fellowships in Coding and Cryptography:
    Up to four post-doctoral/research fellowships in coding and cryptography are available. The Algorithmic Game Theory group at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) has openings for several research fellows (post-docs) and PhD students.

The successful applicants will work with Dr. Ning Chen and Dr. Edith Elkind.

For a research fellow, a strong background in theoretical computer science, game theory, optimization, or multiagent systems is expected; an existing track record in algorithmic game theory/computational social choice will be a plus. The positions are for 1-3 years.

8 Postdocs and 5 PhD positions in Computational Mathematics, Image Processing and Computer Vision

Supported by The Ministry of Education and several other funding agencies, the Computational Mathematics group in Nanyang Technological University has been awarded several projects on image processing, computer vision, numerical analysis and scientific computing.

Requirements for the Postdoc positions

Postdoc candidates should have sufficient knowledge and experiences in numerical simulations of partial differential equations. Optimization methods are also central in the project.  Candidates with strong backgrounds in any area of medical imaging, image processing, computer vision and data compression are also encouraged to apply.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and background.

Requirements for the PhD positions

The PhD candidate should have taken sufficient courses in applied mathematics related to numerical approximations or have a strong course record in image processing, medical imaging, optimization or computer vision. Experience in numerical simulations and project work is an advantage. The candidate is supposed to finish a PhD degree in applied mathematics within 4 years.

Temasek Labs @ Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
4 Post Doctoral positions in Side-Channel and Fault Attacks

Temasek Labs at Nanyang Technological University are seeking 4 Research Scientists in the area of side-channel and fault attacks. The newly founded lab is dedicated to all aspects of side-channel and fault attacks and offers brand-new facilities, a very diverse international research environment, and the opportunity to undertake independent research.

Candidates shall hold, or expect to obtain, a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field. A solid background in one or several areas of Statistics, Mutual Information Analysis, DEMA attacks, fault attacks, practical measurements, lightweight implementations (software and/or hardware) would be considered an advantage.

Expected starting date is in early August 2011 and funding is available for 3 years, thus the contract will be for up to 3 years (depending on the successful candidates' ability to start working in Singapore).
