Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA)

- Fully Funded PhD research study in Singapore

(Closing Date of Application: 1 March, 2008)

 

Introduction

The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a collaboration between the
Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), and the National University of Singapore (NUS). The PhD training will be carried out in English at your chosen lab at NTU, A*STAR Research Institutes, or NUS. Students will be supervised by distinguished and world-renowned researchers. Upon successful completion, students will be conferred a PhD degree by either NTU or NUS.

Areas of Interest

Research areas under the PhD Programme fall broadly under two categories:

  1. Engineering and Physical Science
  2. Biomedical Sciences

 

General Terms and Conditions of Award Eligibility

  1. Students from Russia and Eastern Europe
  2. Passion for research and excellent academic results
  3. Good skills in written and spoken English
  4. Good reports from academic referees

 

Award Terms

  1. Full support for tuition fees for 4 years of PhD studies
  2. Attractive monthly stipend over 4 years of PhD studies, which can support you comfortably. The stipend amount is S$ 24,000 annually (equivalent to US$16,000, US$ = S$1.50), to be increased to S$30,000 annually (equivalent to US$20,000) after passing the PhD Qualifying Examination.
  3. One-time Airfare Grant of S$1,500 Return Airfare
  4. One-time S$1,000 Settling-in Allowance
