Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) Option

The University has adopted a new policy in which a Course may be graded as Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory (S or U) instead of the normal letter-grade. Several important SPMS rules that students need to keep in mind :

  1. Maximum 12 AUs are allowed for S/U
  2. Minimum 69 AUs of graded Courses must be fulfilled in order to be awarded a degree (Admission Year 2011), 77 AUs for Admission Year 2010 and earlier.
  3. Only students within first year of matriculation are allowed to opt S/U for first year core courses.
  4. Courses available for S/U Option are all first year Courses and all GER at any level (except GER-Core). The list of first year core Courses of SPMS would be as follows :

CHEM students :

  1. CM1021 Basic Inorganic Chemistry with Laboratory
